Make Shake and Jake was created to provide a show that is accessible to BSL users and to fulfil Cartoonito's commitment to OFCOM to meet the needs of the Deaf Community.
Mel Make's best friend is Shaun Shake. Shaun Shake's dog is a hearing dog who helps tell Shaun when Mel is at the door and when the Make, Shake machine whirrs into action.
Each themed episode starts by watching a group of young Deaf children explore the world. Using this as a springboard, we see Mel Make make something and Shaun Shake using percussion instruments to perform a simple signed song.
